Are there charts for lofts and distances of fairway woods?

No, to be honest there isn't because you will hit a fairway club further or shorter than standard, so any chart would be of no use to you. Unfortunately in regards to lofts of clubs all companies have different degrees of loft but there are a few rough guides.

  • 3 wood 13.5- as much as 17 degrees * 5 wood 18-20 degrees * 7 wood 21 degrees If you have a specific club I could probably tell you the loft.

Both fairway wood or hybrid works good for distance shots. Fairway wood, just as the name implies, is used generally for hitting shots directly off the turf of the fairway. On the other hand, hybrid clubs combine the use of wood and iron clubs together so you can hit longer shots easily and accurately.

In general, the fairway woods start with angles as low as 13 degrees and as high as 22 degrees. That’s if you include the 7-woods in the picture. You can expect the 3-wood to have a loft between 13 and 15 degrees. 5-woods will have lofts of 17 to 19 degrees. And 7-woods top out between 20 and 22 degrees. The other fairway wood, the 4-wood, fills the gap between the 3 and 5-woods with a loft angle between 16 and 18 degrees.

Fairway woods are great for length but difficult to keep on the green. With the weight positioned low you can hit a hybrid of similar loft as a fairway wood much higher. The shorter shaft also makes it a little easier to control but the distance will be slightly less than its similarly lofted fairway wood. Out of a bunker the hybrid is a champ.

Fairway woods have a higher loft than drivers. A 3 wood has a loft between 15 and 18 degrees, and a 5 wood has a loft between 20 and 22 degrees. The higher the golf club number, the higher the loft. Higher lofted woods (7, 9, 11, and so on) are commonly referred to as utility woods.

It can be hit about 190 yards to 200 yards on the course. The 7-wood hybrid can also hit farther than the 4-hybrid due to the difference in angle of lofts. How to Hit a 7 Wood Off the Tee. On the tight fairways, the fairway 7 wood is the most popular choice among all the golfers. No one is willing to pull out the big driver club to play.

The best fairway woods are ideal for tee shots on short par-4s, reaching par-5s in two shots, and hitting high, soft approach shots into long par-4s. Extensive testing and fitting will help you find the right mix of fairway woods with the proper loft, shaft flex, and lie angle. Even if you buy your clubs online, it’s a smart choice to get fitted.

Golf rules dictate that you may only carry a maximum of 14 clubs for a round of golf. You will normally have a driver, a fairway wood or two, possibly a few hybrids, your irons, wedges, and a putter. What this means is that you have to understand each club in your arsenal and know the distance they can deliver.

Fairway Wood Loft. Most golfers will carry a 3 wood and the standard 3 wood loft is 15 degrees. Some manufacturers will have their 3 woods at 14 or 14.5 degrees and some will have them at 15.5 degrees. Many players will carry a strong 3 wood at around 13-13.5 degrees of loft if it is a club that they want to go as far as possible or like using off the tee.
